Bill Browder on Sergei Magnitksy in Toronto

Anti-Corruption campaigner, investor and author of New York Times best seller, Red Notice: A True Story of High Finance, Murder, and One Man’s Fight for Justice, speaks at the Toronto Conference on Repression and Human Rights on March 27, 2015.

Browder describes the arrest and incarceration, torture and murder of his lawyer Sergei Magnitsky after he discovered a massive fraud committed by Kremlin agents against the Russian government. His campaign to bring justice to Sergei Magnitsky via targeted sanctions has been successful in the United States, where Magnitsky legislation was passed in 2012. Canada is now poised to do the same.
