Danish media outlet The Local is reporting that a new jihadist group Millatu Ibrahim with “strong connections” to ISIS has established itself in Denmark. Millatu Ibrahim is banned in neighboring Germany.
According to the report, the group’s members include some of Denmark’s most radical Islamists and several of the group’s members have fought in Syria and Iraq.
The group posted a YouTube video last week that was filmed in Aarhus’s Gjellerupparken.In the video, a man who appears in traditional Islamic dress, “condemn[s] those who worship democracy… for eternity,” and praises Isis leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and former Al-Qaeda leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
In late August, Danish journal Politiken reported that a Danish born and raised jihadist told their reporter that “soon it will be Denmark’s turn” as “an enemy of Islam.”
