Estonian media reports that a Russian Air Force AN-72 entered Estonian airspace for just under one minute earlier today.
The Russian aircraft’s transponder was turned on, but the pilots of the AN-72 did not contact Estonian air traffic controllers during their incursion into Estonian airspace.
The Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned a representative from the Embassy of the Russian Federation who was given a letter of protest from Estonian officials.
The incursion took place near the Estonian island of Vaindloo, north of Estonia in the Gulf of Finland.
